Montgomery Ballet Presents ‘Messiah’ at Alabama Shakespeare Festival

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA – For Immediate Release (March 2, 2016) – Montgomery Ballet is proud to announce its performance of Messiah March 17 and 19, 2016 on the Festival Stage at Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery, Alabama. Founded in 1958, Montgomery Ballet is the only professional dance company in the city of Montgomery and is one of three in the state of Alabama.

Choreographed by Co-Artistic Director Joseph Villalobos, this original production will feature Montgomery Ballet School students and professional company, as well as Co-Artistic Director Laura Villalobos and members of the community. Set to Handel’s lush music and featuring sets and costumes by Seay Earehart, the ballet is to tell the story of the Messiah in conjunction with Easter. This marks only the third time in the Montgomery Ballet’s history that the company will perform on the Festival Stage at ASF.

Public performances will be offered on Thursday March 17th at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday March 19th at 2:00pm Tickets range from $20-$50 and are available via the Alabama Shakespeare Festival website.
