Julia Tze

Julia Tze was born in New York City with Canadian dual citizenship before moving to Ridgewood, New Jersey in her early childhood years. She began her training at Ridgewood Performing Arts Center in a variety of styles including ballet, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, musical theater, tap and hip hop.

She holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Ballet and a minor in Marketing from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) where she graduated summa cum laude and from the University Honors Program in December of 2020. At CCM, she had the opportunity to dance principal roles in multiple programs including Karen Burke of Dayton Ballet’s Cinderella, La Bayadere, and Sleeping Beauty. She also had the honor of participating in a Dance for the Camera study abroad project in collaboration with the Institute of the Arts Barcelona in Sitges, Spain.

She joined Cleveland Ballet in the summer of 2019 where she danced as a trainee for two years before being promoted to the company in 2021. While with Cleveland Ballet, she had the privilege of learning and performing a variety of roles in Carmen, The Nutcracker, The Magic Flute, Margo Sappington’s Alice, Don Quixote, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Swan Lake, George Balanchine’s Serenade, and original new works. She also had the opportunity to train with esteemed industry professionals such as Deborah Wingert, Valentina Kozlova, Ilya Jivoy, Nina Ananiashvili, and Margo Sappington during her time there. She held the role of Marketing Manager for both Cleveland Ballet and its official school, School of Cleveland Ballet, from 2021 to 2023.

Julia is delighted to join Montgomery Ballet for her first season in 2023 and is looking forward to all that the company has to offer
