Composer: Johan Peter Emilius Hartmann & Niels W. Gade
Premiere: 1854, Copenhagen.

A gem of Danish ballet, the Pas de Six from A Folk Tale is a breathtaking ensemble piece showcasing August Bournonville’s signature elegance and intricate footwork. Set within a story of mistaken identities and magical creatures, this lively and refined pas de six is a perfect example of the joyful, expressive style that defines Bournonville’s legacy. The dance captures the contrast between human nobility and the supernatural world, bringing to life the folkloric charm of Nordic storytelling through its energetic formations and precise technique.

Water Spirits from “The Little Humpbacked Horse”
Choreography by Arthur Saint-Leon
Composed by Cesare Pugni
Premiere: December 1864 in St. Petersburg

A shimmering and ethereal spectacle, Water Spirits from The Little Humpbacked Horse transports audiences into the enchanted depths of Russian folklore. This mesmerizing scene follows Ivan, the ballet’s hero, as he encounters mystical water nymphs who test his courage and determination. Choreographed by Arthur Saint-Léon, the ballet is renowned for its whimsical storytelling, expressive character dancing, and the vibrant, fluid movements that bring the spirits of the water to life.

Sins of Everyman
Choreography by Danny Mitsios
Composed by Dionysios Mitsios
Premiere: 2013

A compelling fusion of movement, music, and human psychology, Sins of Everyman takes audiences on a thought-provoking journey through the seven deadly sins. Set to an original electronic score by Dionysios Mitsios, this contemporary ballet blends dark humor with intense emotion, offering a dynamic exploration of temptation, excess, and redemption. Each sin—pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth—is embodied through expressive choreography, shifting between moments of levity and dramatic intensity. Sins of Everyman is a visceral, engaging experience that challenges audiences to reflect on the contradictions of human nature.

Unifier
Choreography by Danny Mitsios
Premiere: 2025

Set to a nostalgic and evocative soundtrack spanning the 1950s to the 1970s, Unifier is a deeply human exploration of emotional solitude and shared experience. This contemporary ballet juxtaposes moments of isolation with connection, illustrating the complexities of navigating emotions both alone and within a community. The Unifier, a central symbolic figure, serves as a catalyst for emotional release and unity, guiding individuals from fragmentation to collective harmony. Through expressive movement and striking imagery, Unifier reveals the power of dance as a universal language that brings people together.
