Montgomery Ballet Launches Fundraising Campaign for New Home Renovations

Montgomery, AL – July 18, 2024 – The Montgomery Ballet is excited to announce the launch of a fundraising campaign to support the preparation and renovation of its new home at 405 Coliseum Blvd, Montgomery, AL 36109. This move comes after the company was forced to vacate its previous location at 1044 East Fairview Avenue in April 2024 due to safety concerns with the building.

Thanks to the generosity and support of Lee Wilcoxon, the Montgomery Ballet has secured a new space in the Eastbrook Shopping Plaza. While the new location offers more space than the previous one, it requires significant renovations to meet the needs of the ballet company and its community.

The funds raised will be used for essential improvements, including:

Installation of a sprung floor
New mirrors and ballet bars
Purchase and installation of marley flooring
Setting up a costume shop

Additionally, the large space will be divided into two studios, allowing the ballet to offer more classes to the community. The funds will also help create the Montgomery Ballet Studio Theater, which will host the Mardi Gras and Spring productions, providing a unique black box theater experience in Montgomery.

The Montgomery Ballet has started a GoFundMe page to support this endeavor. Contributions of any size are greatly appreciated and will make a significant impact on the ballet’s ability to serve the community and continue its mission of promoting the arts.
