Naomi Tharp
Company Dancer

Originally from Arroyo Grande, California, and most recently based in Austin, Texas, Naomi discovered her love for ballet at the age of four while training at Coastal Dance and Music Academy—and she’s never looked back. As a teenager, she continued her dance education at San Luis Obispo Movement Arts Center (SLOMAC), where she expanded her repertoire to include contemporary and modern dance. During this time, she worked with numerous guest artists and competed in prestigious competitions such as Youth America Grand Prix and California Dance Classics.
While at SLOMAC, Naomi also discovered her passion for community engagement and wellness through dance. She assisted in teaching Dance for Parkinson’s classes, helping others find joy and healing through movement.
In 2019, Naomi joined Ballet Austin Academy, where she danced and performed for two seasons. Most recently, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Belhaven University, graduating summa cum laude. She also earned her Balanced Body Pilates Mat and Reformer certification. At Belhaven, Naomi trained under renowned faculty including Ravenna Tucker-Wagnon, Laura Morton, and Erin Rockwell, as well as guest artists such as Steve Rooks, Gabriel Speiller, and Paiter Van Yperen. Her studies also included dance production and somatic health, further deepening her commitment to the field of concert dance and her understanding of the human body.
Naomi now serves as both a Company Dancer with Montgomery Ballet and a certified Pilates instructor. In both capacities, she seeks to inspire and uplift others through movement—sharing the joy, discipline, and vitality that dance has brought to her life.
