Emily Efferson was born in Harriman, Tennessee, but has lived in Montgomery since she was 10. She spent her teen years training at Alabama Dance Theatre under the direction of Kitty Seale. Her favorite roles there included dancing the lead in Cinderella, as well as soloist roles in Paquita and La Bayadere. During her time there she had the opportunity to attend the RDA/Southeast festival multiple times around the country, and was selected for an honors technique class with Robert Barnett. She attended the Kirov Academy of Ballet summer program on full scholarship, as well as American Ballet Theatre and Boston Ballet School. She is currently finishing her high school education online while also taking college classes. Emily is thrilled to be joining Montgomery Ballet for the coming season!
